How we make air filters
Filters are fabricated in-house from powder-coated mild steel frames holding pleated synthetic media, guarded on both faces with galvanised diamond wire mesh so the media cannot be pushed out of shape by airflow or by handling during cleaning. Pleating gives far more filtering area than a flat sheet in the same opening, which means less pressure drop and longer intervals between cleans. The media is washable — panels are pulled, rinsed, dried and refitted rather than thrown away. Standard sizes are made to stock; housings and box units are fabricated to the opening dimensions you measure on the motor, generator canopy or panel.

Air Filters — common questions
Why do industrial motors need air filters?
Motors and generators draw cooling air through the machine. Whatever is in that air — dust, cotton fly, ash, clinker — settles on the windings, insulates them against cooling and, if it is conductive or damp, tracks across the insulation. Filtering the intake is far cheaper than cleaning or rewinding the machine.
Are the filters washable or disposable?
Washable. The pleated media is protected by mesh on both faces so the panel can be removed, cleaned, dried and refitted repeatedly.
Can filters be made to a custom size?
Yes. Send the opening dimensions and mounting arrangement and we fabricate the frame or housing to fit, with latch or bolt-on mounting as needed.
